The idea for Mallard Bay was born out of CEO Logan Meaux’s personal experience during a disappointing hunting trip with his father. Frustrated by the lack of reliable booking options for outdoor excursions, Meaux saw an opportunity to leverage his entrepreneurial background and create a solution for fellow outdoor enthusiasts. With the support of his co-founders, Mallard Bay embarked on a mission to modernize the hunting and fishing industry and make guided tours more accessible to a wider audience.

Since its inception, Mallard Bay has experienced rapid growth and garnered significant traction in the market. The startup facilitated over $6 million in gross bookings in 2023, with projections indicating further growth in the coming years. By partnering with influential figures like hunting influencer Toby Brohlin, Mallard Bay has been able to attract both users and outfitters to its platform, solidifying its position as a leader in the outdoor tourism space.

Despite initial challenges in securing funding due to investor unfamiliarity with the hunting and fishing category, Mallard Bay successfully closed a $4.6 million Series A round led by Soul Venture Partners. The investment will fuel the startup’s expansion efforts and enable it to introduce new features and capabilities to its platform. With a focus on sustainability and conservation, the company is committed to promoting ethical outdoor practices while driving growth and innovation in the hunting and fishing industry.
