Leap: Helping Businesses Build and Integrate AI Workflows

In the dynamic world of everything AI, businesses are increasingly embracing various Generative AI models and integrations for applications like summarization, prompt-based image generation, and music composition. One startup, Leap, stands out as a strategic solution provider, empowering businesses to effortlessly incorporate AI-driven workflows or construct their own through a streamlined process.

Leap caters to a diverse range of use cases, from consumer-facing apps like Songburst to internal business tools. The startup provides ready-made templates, including music/beat generators and professional headshot generators. Alternatively, companies can leverage the startup’s building blocks to create custom workflows tailored to their specific needs.

The startup introduces a free plan with limited credits for AI model queries and a restricted number of workflows, allowing businesses to test the efficacy of their solution. For more extensive usage, Leap offers plans starting at $29 per month, providing additional credits, unlimited workflow creation, and customer support.

Founded in February 2023 by Alex Schachne and Claudio Fuentes, Leap originated from their collaborative efforts at the Founders Inc. Studio incubator program. Their journey began with the creation of AI-powered consumer tools, such as generating children’s stories for parents. Recognizing the challenges in orchestrating multiple models to create seamless workflows, the co-founders sought to automate this process, resulting in the development of an engine that operates in the background, augmenting work processes.

Securing a $1.4 million seed round led by Founders Inc. and featuring participation from Carya Venture Partners, Gaingels, and notable figures like David Cramer and Paul Copplestone, Leap has garnered attention. Notable customers, including Heineken, Inflection, and Live Nation, attest to the practical applications of Leap’s solution. Live Nation, for instance, employs Leap for an internal tool that generates brand-consistent assets.

Leap distinguishes itself by prioritizing the automation of AI-powered tasks, offering a departure from traditional agent-based solutions. The ability to schedule tasks to run automatically in the background, providing workforce autonomy, and fostering interoperability across various models and companies are cited as unique aspects by co-founder Claudio Fuentes.

Looking ahead, Leap is actively investing in product development, with plans to revamp its workflow builder. The goal is to replace the fixed-step approach with a chain of thought reasoning to enhance goal achievement. Additionally, the company is focused on improving the context awareness of its workflows, allowing it to leverage previously generated results. Founders Alex Schachne and Claudio Fuentes envision strategic partnerships, such as integrations with Zapier, Vercel, and Superbase, as key differentiators that will set Leap apart in the competitive AI landscape globally.
