EarliTec Diagnostics has recently secured $21.5 million in a Series B funding round to expand its system for diagnosing autism in children as young as 16 months old. With autism affecting one in 36 children in the U.S., early diagnosis is crucial for better developmental outcomes. The Atlanta-based startup utilizes an FDA-authorized approach involving short video screenings and AI-driven eye movement tracking to identify behavioral differences indicative of autism.

Co-led by Nexus NeuroTech Ventures and Venture Investors, the funding round underscores growing interest in autism-focused healthcare solutions among investors. EarliTec’s technology offers a faster and more accessible alternative to traditional autism assessments, which often entail lengthy waitlists and hours-long evaluations. By providing a 12-minute test that can be administered in various settings, including homes, clinics, and schools, EarliTec aims to expedite the diagnostic process and enable clinicians to work with more children efficiently.

The company plans to utilize the capital to expand its commercialization efforts and invest in research to broaden the age group its system can diagnose. With the prevalence of autism increasing and awareness growing, investors are increasingly recognizing the market potential and societal impact of solutions addressing developmental disorders. As awareness leads to more diagnoses, investors are drawn to the significant unmet need in the space, presenting opportunities for impactful investments that can drive positive outcomes for individuals and families affected by autism.
