In the extremely fast-paced realm of artificial intelligence, where innovation races ahead, ensuring compliance with regulations becomes paramount. With governments worldwide exploring stringent rules for AI governance, startups are seizing the opportunity to address this growing need. Enter CitrusX, an Israeli early-stage startup that has recently secured a $4.5 million seed investment to develop a software service designed to help companies effortlessly adhere to both internal and government regulations, riding the wave of regulatory evolution.

The urgency for robust AI solutions is evident, and companies invest considerable effort in AI development. However, as co-founder and CEO Noa Srebrnik points out, a significant bottleneck exists in transitioning these AI models to production. The process, at times, spans six to nine months before a model becomes a tangible service or product. CitrusX aims to accelerate this journey by delivering a product that ensures models’ functionality, reliability, and compliance.

Srebrnik, with a background in compliance at the Bank of Israel, recognized the need for a tool that could guarantee AI models’ adherence to regulations across various business sectors. The surge in popularity of generative AI, exemplified by innovations like ChatGPT, only intensifies this need. CitrusX stands out by offering a flexible tool capable of adapting to new AI approaches seamlessly. Srebrnik emphasizes the agnostic nature of CitrusX, enabling the comparison of different models without the need for technique alterations in each scenario.

Founded in 2021 by Srebrnik and CTO Gilad Manor, CitrusX has rapidly grown to a team of a dozen employees. Srebrnik, as a woman CEO, emphasizes the importance of showcasing commitment to diversity and inclusivity within the workforce. Actively participating in employee calls, she aims to foster an environment where everyone, irrespective of gender or background, feels valued and comfortable.

The recent $4.5 million seed investment was led by Canadian venture firm Awz Ventures, with contributions from various angel investors. As CitrusX emerges as a beacon in the regulatory landscape of AI, it underscores the pivotal role startups play in navigating the evolving regulatory framework, ensuring that innovation harmonizes with compliance in the world of artificial intelligence.
