Meet Better Stack, an innovative observability platform founded by Juraj Masar and Veronika Kolejak, who has successfully raised $10 million in a recent funding round led by Kaya. This additional funding infusion comes as a strategic move to accelerate the startup‘s growth and further enhance its position in the observability market. The funding round also saw participation from prominent angel investors, including Aaron Levie, CEO of Box.

Observability, or the practice of monitoring software and infrastructure in production, is becoming increasingly challenging for developers, with approximately 69% of DevOps professionals expressing several concerns about the expanding volume of observability data. Developers are often burdened with managing numerous tools, making the task of spotting anomalies more complex.

Better Stack, which launched in 2021, aims to address these challenges by providing a unified solution that combines monitoring, logging, and incident management into a single, user-friendly dashboard. The platform supports the monitoring of various elements such as apps, websites, servers, and databases, offering alerts and incident management capabilities. Notably, Better Stack distinguishes itself through its recent introduction of AI-based incident silencing. This innovative feature enables engineers to differentiate critical incidents from background noise, reducing the likelihood of unnecessary alerts and improving overall response efficiency.

Juraj Masar, the CEO of Better Stack, highlighted that the observability tools available today often feel outdated and cumbersome. Better Stack aims to streamline this process by offering a more modern, collaborative, and cost-effective solution. The platform has gained traction with over 4,000 brands and government agencies as clients, spanning regions like Singapore, Canada, Norway, Australia, and the U.K.

In addition to providing enhanced capabilities, Better Stack claims to be more economical and faster than its competitors. The recent funding infusion, totaling $10 million, will be instrumental in expanding Better Stack’s workforce from 28 to 50 employees by the end of the year. Moreover, the funds will be utilized for the development of new products and services, further solidifying Better Stack’s position as a key player in the observability market.

Carl Fritjofsson, General Partner at Creandum, emphasized the significance of product experiences, noting that Better Stack has redefined the landscape of observability products by delivering a beautiful and intuitive solution. He expressed confidence that with 10x lower cost and 10x better performance, Better Stack is poised to become a crucial element of software infrastructure.

The success of this recent funding round and the strategic direction set by Better Stack underpin the growing demand for innovative observability solutions that cater to the evolving needs of developers and DevOps professionals. As Better Stack continues to evolve and expand its offerings, it is well-positioned to make significant contributions to simplifying observability practices for the broader tech community around the world.
