With a recent $6.9 million seed round and a strategic partnership with geothermal startup Fervo, AirMyne is poised to deploy its innovative carbon capture solution at scale, offering a promising pathway to combat climate change.

Traditional DAC methods rely on high-temperature heat for CO2 regeneration, presenting challenges in terms of energy requirements and scalability. However, AirMyne’s breakthrough lies in its proprietary liquid, which enables CO2 release at much lower temperatures (100-130 degrees C), making it more versatile and cost-effective.

Mark Cyffka, co-founder and COO of AirMyne, underscores the flexibility of their approach, citing the ability to utilize low-temperature heat from various sources such as electricity, industrial waste heat, and geothermal energy. This adaptability not only enhances efficiency but also facilitates scalability, a crucial factor in addressing the global greenhouse gas emissions crisis.

Central to AirMyne’s technology is the use of quaternary ammonium compounds, versatile compounds known for their CO2 sorption capabilities. These compounds offer a sustainable and efficient solution for carbon capture, further augmented by their compatibility with geothermal energy.

The partnership with Fervo, a leader in advanced geothermal projects, holds immense promise for AirMyne’s expansion. By integrating carbon capture technology with geothermal installations, AirMyne aims to tap into a wide range of potential sites, from industrial facilities to geothermal projects, fostering widespread adoption and impact.

In addition to its environmental benefits, AirMyne’s liquid-based system could have significant implications for various industries, including cement production and textiles manufacturing. By capturing CO2 emissions and repurposing them for sustainable products, AirMyne is driving innovation across sectors while mitigating climate change.
